Up the hill at Brooklands
Brooklands played host for the 2009 Auto italia's show.
Glorious spring sunshine and an array of Italian sport cars made the Brooklands Auto Italia 2009 show a great success!! The show attracted over 4000 visitors, the biggest turn out since the event started some 24 years ago. By 11 am the organiser were quickly running out of planned display area and by midday the show was full to capacity.

This was a day for breaking all the records, over 200 stunning Ferrari’s attended thanks to the UK Ferrari owners club and just to top all, on display was one of the very oldest tipos, a 166 Barrchetta The Ferrari 166 MM Barchetta is one of the most sought-after collector's cars of all time. It was the first true Ferrari; only 25 of them were built and only a handful remain in existence – these cars were raced, and raced hard. The Owner of this wonderful masterpiece even gave the spectators a rare chance by seeing this 166 Barchetta run the legendary hill.
The fact that BBC Radio Two presenter Chris Evans showed his support by arriving in his 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider, the car I consider to be the world's most beautiful work of art. Evans is a well known fan of scarlet sports cars; and this California Spider is packed with history having previously belonged to actor James Coburn.
