Yet another boom year for the Mille Miglia 2010. 1400 cars applied from six continents to enter the “world’s greatest road race”. “We are really quite satisfied. Entry requests have greatly increased in the last two years.” commented Alessandro Casali, the President of the Organizing Committee of the Mille Miglia.

“But even more important”, added Sandro Binelli, the Secretary General of the Committee, is the extraordinary ‘quality’ of the cars taking part in the 2010 regularity race. We are pleased that our appeal to classic car collectors requesting them to offer up some different models as candidates in this year’s race was received with enthusiasm.”

The cars, and their owners, will have to wait until after February 1, 2010 for the confirmation of their successful application,

The 2010 Mille Miglia will take place from 6 – 9 May. As always, 375 cars will be able to compete in the race, and they will be selected using extremely rigid criteria to protect the traditions and characteristics of the Mille Miglia.

The 375 selected cars will challenge each other in a motor sport event that will be among the most exciting in the world. But this year, the fascination of the race will be even greater due to a completely new development. Over 100 Ferraris built between 1958 and today will precede the actual race by 30 minutes. “It will be an event never seen before”, affirmed Sandro Binelli, “a spectacular tribute to the Mille Miglia and the enthusiasm for the cars, which find their maximum expression in this very race”.
