Bremen Classic Motorshow
More than 36,000 visitors came to the Bremen Classic Motorshow last year – the show that marks the start of the new season. “I am sure that the topics we have chosen for this year’s show will ensure plenty to talk about in the classic car scene in 2010, too”, says Hans Peter Schneider, the Managing Director of Messe Bremen.
Messe Bremen, which is organising the successful event already for the eighth time. This year, from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 February, the Bremen show will be celebrating 100 years Alfa Romeo. “We are very pleased that the Alfa Romeo Museum chose us for the start of this traditional car brand’s jubilee celebrations”, continues Schneider. “Bella Macchina” is the name of the special show which will make the hearts of fans of Italian car design beat faster. It will be held in Hall 5.
There will be both new items and well-tried favourites to see in Bremen. On the one hand, the special shows, which will have some outstanding exhibits on loan this year, too – for example the two cars that won the legendary Mille Miglia in the years 1930 or 1936 and 1937, the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport and the 8C 2900 A. Also on display: two of one of the most beautiful racing cars every built: the Alfa Romeo Gran Premio Tipo 159 “Alfetta”, which Juan Manuel Fangio drove to win his world championship title in 1951 and a Maserati 250 F. And there’s the Lancia Astura Cabriolet from the year 1938, with its coachwork by Boneschi, which received an award at the Concorso d´Eleganza in the Villa d´Este last year in April. A number of unusual exhibits have also registered in the motorcycle section: the very first MV Agusta, for example, a 98 ccm machine that was built in 1945 and launched as a “bread and butter machine” in 1946, or the Moto Borgo, which already tempted motorcyclists with its 500 ccm engine and 15 hp 78 years ago. Riders of the Ducati Imola 750 could really rev up – a hefty 250 kilometres per hour ensured this bike the world championship title. Today, only two works racing bikes remain.
Italy will be a recurrent theme at the Bremen Classic Motorshow 2010 – for example, the clubs will this year again be contending for the prize that is awarded to the best club presentation. Dolce Vita and Bella Italia are sure to guarantee a lot of fun in this section. Show goers this year will be able to relive that Italian holiday feeling.
