The Mille Miglia was back on the road from the 14th to 16th May 2009,
82 years after the first edition. This year 375 historic cars travelled through Italy, leaving Brescia on the 14th May, heading to Rome in the evening of the 15th and getting back to Brescia on the night of the 16th.
This a spectacular race, celebrated by thousands of car mad fans from around the world.

We cached up with the race on Saturday 16th May Roma –Brescia Leg, around 5pm we arrived at the Ferrari Factory Maranello, Hundreds of people lined the streets showing their interest in these spectacular historic motor cars. Entering the Ferrari works at Maranello is a very important and symbolic moment for all those participating; having being the birth place of many of the Ferrari’s entered.
To me the Mile Miglia was certainly the finest road race of them all. Enzo Ferrari described the Mile Miglia as “The most beautiful road race in the world” And the new organisers have certainly created something unforgettable, driving the Mile Miglia is still an iconic experience that celebrates this wonderful road race that draws on the tradition, the 6000 participants are keen to be involved in. Twenty years after it was abandoned on the grounds of safety, The Mille Miglia was revived as a retrospective in 1977 and it has become a pinnacle of its type for serious collectors to participate in.
Only the very best cars in world of the types that look part in period are selected.
