To many collectors, the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance is regarded as the “Pebble Beach” of the East Coast, where the best of the best classic and historic automobiles gather to win top honors or be sold by RM Auction.
2010 marks 15 years, this event has overtaken the fairways of the Golf Club of Amelia Island in Florida. The event draws more than 15000 enthusiasts from around the world. Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance is usually held each spring and each day will have a full schedule - golf tournament, seminars, car auction, gala dinners and receptions are some of the events guests can purchase tickets for.
RM Auctions, the official auction house of the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, returns to Florida March 13, 2010 for its 12th annual Automobiles of Amelia Island event. Over the past 11 years, RM has established a strong track record in Amelia Island, selling over 25 million-dollar-plus vehicles, as well as setting numerous new records.
This year’s event will continue the momentum, offering over 100 collector cars for auction. Highlights include an important series of Ferraris and over 55 examples from the estate of noted collector Mr. John O’Quinn. The auction will act as a prelude to this year’s 15th anniversary Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance which will be held on March 14.
For discerning Ferrari aficionados, a total of seven striking Ferraris are looking for new owners. Highlights include a alloy-bodied Ferrari 275 GTB/4 it has been recently restored by its current long-term owner, finished in the unusual color of ‘Nocciola’ with a black interior. And if you fancy something for the track Rm is offering the O’Quinn Collection 1994 Ferrari 348 GT Michelotto Competizione In total, only 11 Michelotto Competizione variants of the 348 were produced. Nine of these were put directly into collections and were never raced. Of the 11 built, only four made it to American shores, including the 1994 Ferrari 348 GT Michelotto Competizione S/N 99107 presented here. With limited track use. In fact, the odometer shows only 2,685 miles.
